Definition:
Orthodontics is the branch of dental science which deals with the study of growth and development of the body generally and face , jaws and teeth particularly. Their infinite variations and abnormalities and the prevention and treatment of the due to facial abnormalities within certain limit.
Objects of orthodontics treatments:
i. To improve facial aesthetics within certain limits
ii. To improve the function of the dentition
iii. Elimination of crowding and to improve the durability of the dentition
iv. As adjust to other forms of dental treatment
Common orthodontics problems are includes--
1. Crowding
2. Teeth spacing and proclination
3. Anterior cross bite
4. Open bite
5. Deep bite
6. Impaction of the canine
Causes of orthodontics problems:
i. Abnormal soft tissue morphology such as – incomplete lip, macroglossia, everted lip, strap like lip etc.
Ii. Abnormal habit such as – thumb sucking, lip sucking, tongue thrusting etc.
Iii. Tooth tissue discrepancy
iv. Abnormal growth of maxilla or mandible
v. Hereditary factor
vi. Nasal obstruction

ii. Disking of teeth
iii. Extraction of certain teeth
After space gaining by the above method, than leveling and alignment of the tooth by fixed orthodontics appliances and finally contraction and coordination of both arches.

ii. Fixed appliance with multiloop arch wire
iii. Three dimension expansion screw
